Tungsten is a tool for database clustering and replication, enabling enterprises to run business-critical applications on cost-effective open source software. UX design is 100% done by me. I also did the design for the previous UI, developed in 2013.
The project included workshops with the client to determine the functionality and requirements and 1-on-1's with the key clients to validate the usability and utility of the new UI.
Kaliber was creating an Uber-like dining experience where the restaurant staff would recognize you upon arrival, greet you by name, know your dietary restrictions and automatically charge your credit card, allowing you to leave without waiting for the check.
My tasks in the project included service design of the restaurant experience, UX design of the app as well as the app used in the restaurant.
UX DESIGN PROCESS
1. Creation of personas: not too detailed, listing high-level characteristics of the target users
2. Mindset analysis: workshop to establish different mindsets/contexts in which users use the app
For example:
"I want to find a great restaurant serving asian fusion for tonight"
"When and where was that reservation again"
3. Micro-goals: for each mindset, establish a list of micro-goals than need to be accomplished for the mindset.
"Find asian fusion restaurant"
"Book table for 4"
"Take note of the time and address of the restaurant"
4. Creation of wireframes based on the resulting requirements.
5. Validate designs with inVision prototype
6. Detailed visual design of the screens
7. Create specs for development

The demo featured several games, also developed by us using Unity 3D.
In this project I did:
Concept design for the whole project
Industrial design and 3D print prototyping of the headset and controller
Gesture design for the controller
Visual and game design for the 3D demo games
Overall virtual reality experience design, including main UI (in 3D) for the headset
Development of some of the demo games (C#)
And much more...
